Comprehensive Health Check-up

Regular comprehensive health check-ups help detect diseases at an early stage, assess individual risk factors, and provide personalised recommendations to maintain your health for years to come.

Many serious medical conditions develop without noticeable symptoms in their early stages. Preventive health screening helps identify potential health issues before symptoms appear, allowing timely diagnosis and treatment.

At Grand Medical, the Check-up programme is supervised by consultant internist Marina Bogdanova, who specialises in preventive medicine, internal disease diagnostics, and comprehensive health assessment.

What Does the Check-up Programme Include?

The programme consists of several stages designed to provide a comprehensive assessment of your overall health.

1. Consultation with an Internist

Your Check-up begins with a consultation with an experienced internist.

During your appointment, the doctor will:

  • assess your overall health condition;
  • review your symptoms, medical history, and family medical history;
  • identify your individual risk factors;
  • recommend the most appropriate examinations and laboratory tests;
  • answer your questions about disease prevention and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

This personalised approach helps avoid unnecessary investigations while ensuring that important health issues are not overlooked.

2. Laboratory Tests

Based on the doctor’s recommendations, your laboratory investigations may include:

  • Complete blood count (CBC);
  • Blood biochemistry tests;
  • Lipid profile;
  • Blood glucose and carbohydrate metabolism assessment;
  • Liver and kidney function tests;
  • Inflammatory markers;
  • Hormonal testing and additional laboratory investigations when clinically indicated.

3. Diagnostic Examinations

Depending on your age, symptoms, and individual risk factors, your programme may include:

  • ECG (Electrocardiogram) — evaluates heart function and detects cardiac rhythm disorders.
  • Holter Monitoring — continuous 24-hour ECG monitoring used to detect hidden heart rhythm abnormalities.
  • 24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) — continuous blood pressure monitoring over 24 hours to diagnose hypertension and blood pressure fluctuations.
  • Echocardiography — an ultrasound examination of the heart that evaluates its structure and function.
  • Ultrasound Examination — ultrasound imaging used to assess the abdominal organs, kidneys, thyroid gland, and other internal organs.
  • Vascular Doppler Ultrasound — assessment of blood flow in the vessels of the head and neck, arms, and legs to detect circulatory disorders.
  • Other diagnostic procedures when medically indicated.

As part of the Check-up programme, we also recommend including the Helicobacter pylori Breath Test, as Helicobacter pylori is one of the most common causes of gastritis, peptic ulcers, and chronic stomach discomfort. The test is particularly recommended for patients experiencing bloating, stomach pain, heartburn, or a feeling of heaviness after meals. It is quick, painless, highly accurate, and does not require gastroscopy.

4. Follow-up Consultation with an Internist

After all test results have been received, you will attend a follow-up consultation.

During this appointment, the doctor will:

  • explain your test and examination results in detail;
  • discuss the significance of any findings;
  • assess your risk of cardiovascular, endocrine, and other chronic diseases;
  • provide personalised recommendations on nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle;
  • refer you to specialist doctors if necessary;
  • prepare an individual plan for future monitoring and disease prevention.

Why Is a Check-up Supervised by an Internist More Effective?

Many patients receive their examination results without fully understanding what they mean or what steps should be taken next.

An internist brings all of your medical information together, evaluates your health as a whole, and identifies which findings truly require attention.

Marina Bogdanova specialises in preventive medicine and comprehensive health assessment. Her goal is not only to diagnose existing conditions but also to help prevent serious diseases from developing in the future.

The main purpose of the Check-up programme is not simply to perform tests and examinations, but to provide every patient with a clear understanding of their health and a personalised plan for maintaining it.

Who Should Consider a Check-up?

A comprehensive health assessment is especially recommended if you:

  • are over 35 years of age;
  • have not had a preventive health examination for a long time;
  • experience fatigue, weakness, or reduced performance;
  • have high blood pressure;
  • are overweight or have metabolic disorders;
  • have a family history of cardiovascular, endocrine, or cancer-related diseases;
  • would like to receive a comprehensive evaluation of your health together with professional recommendations for maintaining it.
